A customer traveling with Ryanair informed MailOnline Travel that she will not be using this budget carrier anymore because they made her pay £62 for an additional fee.

Kay, a 32-year-old from
London
mentioned she felt singled out by the airline.

The traveler was en route from Dublin to London Stansted when the incident happened.

When Kay’s cabin suitcase was positioned inside the baggage check-in area, it was found to be slightly misaligned because one of its wheels protruded beyond the airline’s designated marking.

She had to settle the airline’s regular €75/£62 charge for extra-large luggage to get on the plane.

Upon returning to the UK, Kay voiced her concerns to Ryanair regarding her ordeal, yet despite an apology for the ‘trouble’ caused, they declined to reimburse her for the additional luggage charge.

A Ryanair customer service representative informed Kay, “It should be noted that customers who buy Priority along with two carry-on bags have full entitlement to.”

We would like to gently bring your attention to the fact that, according to the photograph you submitted, it seems the luggage exceeds the demarcated lines within the size checker.

‘Referentially, the luggage must stay completely inside the blue zone without crossing over the blue-yellow demarcation line.’

Kay informs MailOnline that the incident in January has completely deterred her from traveling with Ryanair in the future.

She states: “This left me feeling singled out and as though their focus was not on providing good customer service at all.”

I purchased a priority ticket along with two carry-on bags, but they still insisted I pay an additional €75/£62. Since nobody was available to check my bag into the hold, I decided to bring it onto the plane with me instead—it easily fitted in the overhead locker right above my seat.

‘I have been led to believe that Ryanair cares solely about profits. Although I traveled with them for numerous years, I will not be using their services anymore.’

‘I would rather allocate my funds to an airline company that shows greater consideration towards its passengers.’

And Kay is certainly not the only client to do so.

Recently, Ryanair was accused of breaking someone’s heart after they were slapped with a €75/£62 charge for a suitcase that just barely exceeded the airline’s size restrictions.

From Dublin to London Stansted in November, she mentioned being compelled to pay an additional £50 because her suitcase’s wheel was protruding from the baggage sizer.

And a violinist said she felt as though she was treated like “trash.”
By airline personnel when they informed her that her instrument case exceeded the allowed dimensions by 1 cm for boarding the aircraft.

What are the guidelines for Ryanair’s carry-on baggage?

Each traveler may carry one small personal item measuring 40x20x25 cm, ensuring it fits beneath the seat ahead of them.

Travelers have the option to pay extra for their cabin luggage allowance. This permits them to carry one compact personal item along with another piece weighing up to 10 kg, stowed in the overhead compartment, provided it measures within 55x40x20 cm dimensions.

Visitors might be required to put their bags through a size checker at the boarding point, and any luggage not adhering to the baggage regulations will result in additional charges.
