A young man has revealed the sacrifices he made over a six-month period to help build his mini property empire.

Bailey Jay mentioned that he once thought he would be stuck as a lifelong tenant, however, through making difficult choices and avoiding numerous temptations, he managed to purchase three properties within a short period.

In 2023, Mr Jay managed to save money by having tuna and rice for lunch daily. This went on for half a year as he abstained from spending on unnecessary items.

While he was still residing with his mother, he managed to save up $20,000.

He earned an additional $46,000 from selling his utility vehicle and by then, he had managed to save up sufficient funds for the initial payment on his first property.

The construction worker, who earned an annual salary of $100,000, managed to purchase a house with four bedrooms.

for $440,000.

He promptly leased it out and began expanding his property collection, aiming to close the gap with his brother-in-law Sam Gordon, who heads the real estate advisory company Australian Property Scout, though he still had 107 properties less than him.

He mentioned, ‘He kept whispering in my ear the entire time, saying “let’s go buddy,”‘

‘I found it incredibly convenient. He is someone I admire greatly; he’s like a brother to me, yet at the same time, one must possess their own resolve to make things happen.’

Mr. Jay’s initial property has grown in value to $600,000, and he utilized this appreciation to purchase two additional three-bedroom houses in Western Australia.

“I utilized my initial deposit and simply continued using the equity. Each quarter, I would receive a new valuation, review it, and withdraw more funds,” he explained.

‘The growth was incredible.’

Mr Jay’s second investment property was purchased for $295,000 and is currently valued at $400,000. His third property was acquired for $342,000 and has also appreciated to over $400,000 in value.

Altogether, the three properties were purchased for $1.07 million and are currently valued at $1.4 million.

“They are all occupied and have a slight negative cash flow, though not significant. My second property sets me back around $50 per week,” stated Mr Jay.

The individual mentioned that they needed to cough up around $300 weekly to bridge the gap for the three loans.

“When I initially acquired my property, the property manager called me and mentioned that there was interest from a family of five, but the sole concern was that they own a Jack Russell,” he explained.

‘I don’t care if it is a tiger as long as they look after the house and pay the rent.’

Mr Jay’s brother-in-law, Mr Gordon, caused controversy following the release of video clips showing his staff celebrating the magnitude of their real estate holdings while enjoying an extravagant yacht trip during their Christmas celebration last year.

Audiences criticized the revelers for being disconnected and blamed them, saying they are ‘the entire cause behind Australia’s rental crisis.’

However, Mr Gordon informed Daily Mail Australia that numerous Australians fail to grasp the effort required to reach his level of success.

“He mentioned that you encounter individuals who’ve drawn significant inspiration from (the party video) and others who aim to criticize and bring you down,” he stated.

People view my current success today—having achieved so much over 15 years—but remember, I’ve dedicated nearly half of my life to this.

‘I believe individuals should understand that investing in property is genuinely within reach for everyone.’
