Ingredients

Cookies:

  • 1/3 cup
    sugar
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1 teaspoon
    vanilla
    extract
  • 3.5 oz soft
    butter
  • 1
    egg
  • 1+2/3 cups flour

Topping:

  • 3.5 oz milk chocolate

Caramel:

  • 2.5 oz butter
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cawan susu pekat yang manis

Preparation

  • Step 1:

    For shortbread dough: Blend together softened butter, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Incorporate an egg and blend until combined.

  • Step 2:

    Gradually add the flour in portions. Begin with a whisk and complete the process using your hands.

  • Step 3:

    Cover the dough with cling wrap, shape it into a ball and then flatten it. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

  • Step 4:

    Spread out the dough on a surface dusted with flour. Slice them into rectangles measuring 3.5 by 1.5 inches (9 by 4 cm).

  • Step 5:

    Attach tiny strips (measuring 0.2 x 3.5 inches or 0.5 x 9 cm) to the tops of the pastry rectangles, pressing gently to secure them in place.

  • Step 6:

    Bake for 10 minutes at 350°F (180°C), followed by allowing it to cool entirely.

  • Step 7:

    Caramel: Melt butter. Add sugar and stir. When the mixture boils, add condensed milk.

  • Step 8:

    Mix for approximately 10 minutes, until it turns slightly brown.

  • Step 9:

    Place the caramel inside the cookies. Let them cool in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Then fill the cookies with melted milk chocolate and refrigerate again for another 15 minutes.

  • Step 10:

    Ta-da, your cookies are all set!
